A spanish musician with an hawaian ukulele, it’s a new kind of music! Daniel, professional musician, with his ukulele plays famous songs by Beatles or Coldplays. This Christmas he cheers us up with Jingle Bells and We Wish you a Merry Christmas. Let’s listen to him while reading his story.
1. Who (are you)?
My name is Daniel Morcillo Usero, although artistically I am known as Dani Usero. I am 27 years old and I am from Barcelona, Spain.
2. What (do you do)?
I am a professional musician. I started playing multiple instruments, like drums and guitar. In particular, I specialized in Modern Music and Jazz. Most recently, my great love is the ukulele. I had the pleasure of presenting my first work entitled “Ukulele & Beatles”, a compilation of dome of the songs of the British band that has influenced me the most.
3. When (for how long)?
As a musician, I started at the age of 14, with drums as my first instrument. Soon my first electric guitar arrived and, little by little, it became a cornerstone of my life up to the point that I wanted to become a professional. Everything started in 2010 – 2011, when I began to discover the wonders of the ukulele, which drove me to the point where I am now.
I grew up in the city of Rubí, a small city about 30 kilometers away from Barcelona, where I studied music afterwards.
It’s a good question. Apart from my maternal grandfather, no one in my family was interested in music or encouraged me to be. My passion came out of myself, I was always the main driver in my musical path.
